| Well, we are rounding up the trip at Pasadena. There are two other couples from Oregon, they've been working here since December. They'll stay a bit longer. We're not finished, but we've got the bulk of the work done so the church can finish up. We leave tomorrow morning and head to Phoenix. We'll stay at my sister Jean's house. Then we'll trek on to OK. A couple of weekends ago we spent the weekend in Lake Havasu City with my other sister Peggy. It's beautiful there, the lake is nice. Its also warm there. Its been raining here, of course its for ten minutes at a time. Today we went to see my son and family in Northridge. (north of LA) Our next project will be in the metropolis of Welch, OK. That's only ten minutes from my home so I can stay at home instead of RVing it. I am very anxious to get home.
For an update on my daughter Melanie go to Kimberly's site. | | |
| Hello, Mary here. Still in Pasadena. Weather's been warm. Well, I was informed by my fellow RVers that I could get a haircut at the local beauty college. They had both got nice haircuts for $7 so I thought, why not! We go downtown, my friends go to a market on the next block, and they point me in the direction of the beauty college. I head down the street, confident that I will receive a decent cut. I walk into a salon filled with Asian hairstylists. (did I mention we are in a highly populated Asian area?) I proceed to tell them that I had called earlier and made an appt. for a haircut. "Yes, yes. You need haircut? Ok, I cut for you." I'm taking a little liberty here, bc in all honesty, I don't know what she said! So she takes me back, washes my hair, then says "I go to bank". She hands me off to someone else who cuts my hair. I ask her whether she is a student or teacher, she replies "Yes." After a few moments of fear, she finishes, takes me to the counter to pay. She says " Haircut, fifteen dollar." I say, "Oh no, on the phone they said it would be $7." She says, "No, that next door at school. Here, we professional." So I have a $15 professional haircut, by a woman not used to cutting Caucasian hair. This should be interesting. (My daughter told me not to, but I didn't listen) | | |
| I got new jeans today, from Express. I'm pretty hip for an RVer!

| We're on a Maps RV trip in Pasadena, CA. We're remodeling a church. Our wonderful daughter lives in the ghetto of LA, but is visiting us now. She hooked me up on XAnga! Hopefully I'll remember how to log in to post! | | |
